Josh’s Handvo (Eggless Savory Vegetable Muffins)

These succulent savoury muffins are filled with delicious goodness for both adults and children. They can be eaten as a snack or as a meal, eaten by themselves or with a helping of yoghurt. This is perfect for little ones 10 months plus.

  • Carrot

  • Zucchini 
  • Spinach
  • Semolina
  • Chickpea flour
  • Yoghurt Alternative
  • Ginger
  • Oil
  • Mustard seeds
  • Coriander powder
  • Cumin powder
  • Baking powder (optional)


  • 1 Medium carrot grated
  • ½ Zucchini grated
  • 2 Handfuls of Spinach chopped finely
  • 1 cup of grated cabbage
  • 1 cup of Semolina
  • ¼ cup of chickpea flour
  • ½ cup of yoghurt alternative
  • 1 tsp of ginger grated
  • ½ cup of water
  • 1 tbsp of oil
  • 1 tsp of mustard seeds
  • 1tsp coriander powder
  • 1tsp of turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp of cumin powder
  • 1 tsp of garlic powder
  • ½ tsp baking powder (optional)
    • Add the semolina, chickpea flour, coriander powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, garlic powder, yoghurt and water into a mixing bowl and mix well. (The mixture should be thick, not watery)

    • Next add in the carrots, zucchini, spinach, cabbage and ginger. Mix well using a spatula or spoon.
    • In a saucepan, heat up the oil and add in the mustard seeds and wait till the crackle. Switch of the heat and leave aside
    • Add the mixture into a greased mini muffin tray and put in into the oven at 200 degrees for 20 minutes.
