Deliciously creamy nutritious family favourite dhal. Perfectly paired with quinoa or rice. This is not your average dhal. Its is packed with Vitamin C and Fibre.

My Veggie Bubba | Lauki (Dudhi) Dhal
  • Lauki (Dudhi)
  • Yellow Mung Dhal
  • Plant-based Philadelphia
  • Water
  • Olive Oil
  • Cumin seeds
  • Mustard seeds
  • Pepper
  • Turmeric 
  • Garlic
  • Salt (Optional, omit if giving to a child under 1)
  • 1/4 dudhi finely grated
  • 1/2 yellow mung lentils
  • 1 tbsp of Philadelphia cheese (Vg)
  • 1 cloves of garlic grated 
  • 1 tbsp olive oil 
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • pinch of black pepper
  • pinch of turmeric
  • Water
  • salt (optional)
    • Add the olive oil to a heated saucepan. Once heated add the cumin seeds and mustards seeds wait till the crackle and then add the garlic.

    • Saute the garlic for 1-2 mins
    • Add the Dudhi and wash yellow mung lentils (soak the lentils in hot water for 10-20 mins before)
    • Add 1 cup of water, turmeric, salt (optional) and black pepper.
    • Boil for 20-30 mins until the lentils are cooked. Or pressure cook for 10mins.
    • Add the Philadelphia and stir. This gives the dhal a creamy texture.
