Add the olive oil to a heated saucepan. Once heated add the cumin seeds and mustards seeds wait till the crackle and then add the garlic.
- Saute the garlic for 1-2 mins
- Add the Dudhi and wash yellow mung lentils (soak the lentils in hot water for 10-20 mins before)
- Add 1 cup of water, turmeric, salt (optional) and black pepper.
- Boil for 20-30 mins until the lentils are cooked. Or pressure cook for 10mins.
- Add the Philadelphia and stir. This gives the dhal a creamy texture.
